Team Predator Carbon Repair entered three riders in the San Dimas stage race this weekend; Cesar Grajales, Cody O'Reilly and Julio Mollindeo. The team ended stage 1 in high-ranking. Caesar placed tenth in the time trial, a minute down on the leader. Cody and Julio placed further towards the end of the GC. Stage two, road race. The team tried to keep Cody in the front to cover moves from other teams, while Cesar stayed in groups to make a move to gain time. Half-way through the race Cody got into a break-away with two Jamis Hageness Berman riders. The Jamis Hageness Berman riders (Amaran and Companioni) attacked with two to go on the King of the Mountain climb and road away to the win. Cesar attacked on the King Of the Mountain climb on the final lap but did not have a big enough gap to go solo to the end. Caesar ended up finishing the in the group that day, and Cody ended up finishing a couple minutes behind the pack. Julio got stuck behind a crash and did not finish. Cody started stage 2 in a three-way-tie for second place in the points classification. Cesar was sitting in sixth in the GC. Cody looked to gather points to make a run for the green jersey. Cody and Cesar stayed close to each other and stayed to front of the race. With five laps to go Cesar bridged to the front group. As soon as Cesar bridged to the front group, the tempo was quickened and the race was brought back together. Cody finished off the field sprint in 13th. Caesar ended in 6th place in the GC. We should be ready for the Redlands Classic coming up in just a couple weeks.
