Developed from over 20 years of custom carbon framebuilding and thousands of structural frame restorations at Predator Cycling, our turnkey DIY Carbon Repair Kit gives you the exact aerospace-grade 3K 2x2 twill carbon reinforcement, PRO-SET toughened laminating epoxy matrix, and high-compaction heat-shrink tape needed to permanently repair cracked or impact-damaged carbon bicycle tubes at home—without a vacuum pump or curing oven.
- True Structural Reinforcement: Combines 200 gsm 3K 2x2 twill carbon fiber weave with a high-toughness room-temperature cure PRO-SET laminating epoxy system (45-minute working pot life at 72°F / 22°C, ~85°C ultimate Tg).
- No Vacuum Pump Required: Included high-shrink compaction tape (up to 20% shrink force, rated to 150°C) compresses the wet layup uniformly against curved frame tubes while expelling excess resin and air voids.
- Complete Turnkey System: Includes pre-measured resin & hardener bottles, progressive wet/dry silicon carbide abrasives (120, 220, 320 grit), mixing cups, brushes, nitrile gloves, and step-by-step video tutorial access.

- 01 Prepare: Clean the frame with the sterile alcohol wipe and feather-sand the damaged carbon zone using the included 120-grit abrasive to expose a clean bonding surface.
- 02 Cut & Dry-Fit: Cut concentric stepped patches of the 3K 2x2 twill carbon fabric to overlap the crack or impact site in progressive layers.
- 03 Wet Out: Combine the pre-measured Part A Laminating Resin and Part B Hardener in the graduated mixing cup (45-minute working window at 72°F) and thoroughly saturate each carbon ply.
- 04 Wrap & Compact: Spiral-wrap the high-compaction shrink tape tightly over the repair zone (overlapping by 50%), apply gentle heat with a hair dryer or heat gun to activate compaction, and allow 24 hours to cure at room temperature.
- 05 Finish: Remove the release shrink tape and progressively wet-sand the cured laminate smooth using the 220-grit and 320-grit abrasives prior to clearcoating.
