One, pedal washer distribute force and load between the pedal and crank, thus creating a more rigid connection. Secondly,  pedal washer securely move the pedal and in turn, the foot further out from the crank by 1.6mm+. This small correction from adding a pedal washer can better help the rider tackle more uniform tracking, easing any existing knee pain or swelling.
