About the Major Road Cockpit
The original Major was conceived by Predator Cycling in 2009. We were determined to create the stiffest one-piece bar/stem combo on the market and blew the competition out of the water. The Major proved to be our most successful component, exhibiting a full carbon fiber skeleton construction, sub-400 gram weight, and fused Kevlar layers wrapped in hi-Modulus carbon to dampen road vibrations.
Our current Major Cockpit system is a sight to behold. Completely redesigned in 2022 to ignite the aerodynamic possibilities of multiple riding positions and rekindle the magic of road comfort, function and form. You’ll immediately form a connection to this system when you feel the ergonomics provided by our one-of-a-kind multiple riding position points. The complexity of the system actually equips the rider with various gripping points, that all collectively work together throughout the length of your whole ride.

Functionality
When you kick off a ride, full of energy, you can choose to hold the palm pockets. As you dig a little deeper and need to rely on the tops, the bar harmoniously lifts towards the center, correcting posture. The gradual widening of the drops contours around your shift levers, allowing for broader stance and ease of use. Finally, for non-UCI events or those simple coffee shop runs, the center deep pocket nose position is a great place to rest your palm.

Manufacturing
The Major Road is manufactured from a hybrid composite and 3D printed skeleton fusion process. The composite materials are available in both medium modulus and high-modulus (key area additional layup) materials. The skeleton consists of hi-tensile strength, hi-temp 3D printed resins. The Major is the result of an intensive design process utilizing both CFD (Computational Fluid Dynamic) testing and FEA (Finite Element Analysis) of composite structures. Each respective testing system achieved both optimized shape, structure, manufacturing techniques, and positional geometres. The Major is the combinational result of design ingenuity, AI-responsiveness, and advanced manufacturing.
