Carbon fiber is an incredible material; strong, light weight, and responsive. However, carbon fiber is delicate and not immune to repetitive abrasion. To ensure the safety and longevity of the sole of a carbon fiber shoe, Predator Cycling provides a solution in our Safeguard Shims, a Speedplay / Wahoo compatible metal cleat protector plate.

The Safeguard Shim provides direct protection between the base of a cycling shoe and any cleat adapters, wedges, or shims desired by the cyclist. The Safeguard Shim creates a strong foundation for the shoe, alleviating an "wobble" created by direct contact with the pedal. By incorporating a protector plate, you can reduce common wear and tear associated with repetitive use of pedal clipping.

Our Safeguard Shims are available in 0.12mm thickness. The metal cleat protector plates are compatible with Wahoo Walkable Cleats, designed from Speedplay Walkable.
